During the 60´s and 70´s, the hippie movement expanded all around the world. Young hippies from all the panet started traveling to India for “spiritual” reasons, which included meditation, yoga, partying and all kinds of drug tasting. Many of these hippie crowds couldn’t (or didn´t want to) afford airplane tickets to do the travel from Europe to the subcontinent. They chose to do the trip overland, either on public transport or in old 4x4´s they bought back in their home countries.
India
became to the hippies what the Mecca is to the Muslims. Every self-appointed
hippie had to go to India at least once in their lives. The overland route chosen
was almost always the same: Europe – Turkey – Iran – Pakistan, and finally, India.
This journey became known as the Hippie Route, or the Hippie Trail, and it came
to be a popular journey for travelers of all around the world.
The Hippie Route
came to an end in 1979 when the Islamic Revolution in Iran closed the country
for foreign travelers. The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and the political
instability in Pakistan made the situation even harder. Since then, the route
became a legend and few travelers dared to accomplish it in decades.
Today, the
situation in some of these countries has improved; globalization has made the
world a smaller place and technology helps travelers to share information in a
more efficient way. It seems like the Hippie Route could be undertaken once
again.
Tomorrow
I´ll start my new journey: the Hippie Route. I´ll try to go from Europe to
India by road, using only public transportation, alone and on a tight budget,
as backpackers do!
Accomplishing the Hippie Trail would be an enormous achievement
for me, as a traveler and as a person. It will take me to some of the most challenging, and yet,
most interesting countries in the world. I will travel from Spain to Greece;
then through Turkey to Iran, Pakistan and then finally India (if I ever get the
visa!).
As in most of my trips, I have no idea about the itinerary, the places
I´ll visit, the people I´ll meet or the challenges I´ll encounter. The only
thing I know for sure is that I´ll have the time of my life, I´ll enjoy myself as if it
was my last trip ever and I´ll feel as the happiest man in the world.

A Question for the Atheist
Suppose that your belief is right (i.e. there is no God), then what are we (who believe in Allah) going to lose after death? But on the other hand what will happen to you if we are right? Nothing but hell. So make your choice wisely either believe in Allah, or stay hopeless in this life without knowing where you came from, where are you going to or why are you in this life.
Perhaps you may live another fifty or sixty years ignoring Allah, then you will return to Him and His Severe Punishment because of your disbelief.
On the contrary, if you believe in Allah and do good, you will return to Him and dwell in Paradise having whatsoever you wish. Whatever be your decision, we have given you the message but it is as Allah has said:
80. Behold! You can not make the dead to hear, nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they have turned to flee.
81. Nor can you guide the blind out of their straying. You can make none to hear, except those who believe in Our Revelations, and who have surrendered.
(Qur'an 27:80-81)

Muslims believe in one, unique, incomparable God, Who has no son nor partner, and that none has the right to be worshipped but Him alone. He is the true God, and every other deity is false. He has the most magnificent names and sublime perfect attributes. No one shares His divinity, nor His attributes. In the Quran, God describes Himself:
ReplyDeleteSay, “He is God, the One. God, to Whom the creatures turn for their needs. He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none like Him.” (Quran, 112:1-4)
No one has the right to be invoked, supplicated, prayed to, or shown any act of worship, but God alone.
God alone is the Almighty, the Creator, the Sovereign, and the Sustainer of everything in the whole universe. He manages all affairs. He stands in need of none of His creatures, and all His creatures depend on Him for all that they need. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, and the All-Knowing. In a perfect manner, His knowledge encompasses all things, the open and the secret, and the public and the private. He knows what has happened, what will happen, and how it will happen. No affair occurs in the whole world except by His will. Whatever He wills is, and whatever He does not will is not and will never be. His will is above the will of all the creatures. He has power over all things, and He is able to do everything. He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and the Most Beneficent. In one of the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad , we are told that God is more merciful to His creatures than a mother to her child.1 God is far removed from injustice and tyranny. He is All-Wise in all of His actions and decrees. If someone wants something from God, he or she can ask God directly without asking anyone else to intercede with God for him or her.
God is not Jesus, and Jesus is not God.2 Even Jesus himself rejected this. God has said in the Quran:
Indeed, they have disbelieved who have said, “God is the Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary.” The Messiah said, “Children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord. Whoever associates partners in worship with God, then God has forbidden Paradise for him, and his home is the Fire (Hell). For the wrongdoers,3 there will be no helpers.” (Quran, 5:72)
God is not a trinity. God has said in the Quran:
Indeed, they disbelieve who say, “God is the third of three (in a trinity),” when there is no god but one God. If they desist not from what they say, truly, a painful punishment will befall the disbelievers among them. Would they not rather repent to God and ask His forgiveness? For God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. The Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary, was no more than a messenger... (Quran, 5:73-75)
Islam rejects that God rested on the seventh day of the creation, that He wrestled with one of His angels, that He is an envious plotter against mankind, or that He is incarnate in any human being. Islam also rejects the attribution of any human form to God. All of these are considered blasphemous. God is the Exalted. He is far removed from every imperfection. He never becomes weary. He does not become drowsy nor does he sleep.
The Arabic word Allah means God (the one and only true God who created the whole universe). This word Allah is a name for God, which is used by Arabic speakers, both Arab Muslims and Arab Christians. This word cannot be used to designate anything other than the one true God. The Arabic word Allah occurs in the Quran about 2700 times. In Aramaic, a language related closely to Arabic and the language that Jesus habitually spoke,4 God is also referred to as Allah.
